OPEN Doors

Happy 3rd Heavenly Birthday, Sweetheart! You continue to remain in our hearts in many ways, yet there has been an acceptance as time permits to let go of what once was.

Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me though he dies, yet shall he live. Everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.” (John 11:25-26).

We are thankful to have this hope and look forward to seeing you and our loved ones again.

The strongest force in the world is LOVE. When it is blocked, it is very painful. There are two things we can do to help. We can kill it so it stops hurting but then a part of us dies too OR we can ask God to open another route for that love to travel. Someone said, “God permits what he hates to allow what he loves in our lives.” He hates pain and suffering but loves a personal close relationship with him. I know for certain I have grown closer to God as well as our children during these last few years. Our unwavering faith has continued to sustain us in the hard difficult places. It’s the peace that comes from a supernatural strength that only God can provide through the power of the Holy Spirit. Life is easier when you take one day at a time and remember that nothing is permanent, except where we spend eternity.

Memories are very helpful to us in moving forward but they are also a foundation for the future. It’s easy to live in the past for a while, we just shouldn’t linger there. If we live in the past, we can’t see the promise of what God has ahead for us. What’s in front of us is so much more important than what’s left behind us.

Alexander Graham Bell said, “When one door closes another door opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the ones which open for us.”

Attempting to stay resilient in joy, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer (Romans 12:12) is unnatural for most of us. BUT GOD…...can open doors.

Recently I read: Revelation 3:8, “I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.”  I don’t know what you are going through in your life right now, but God does. If you focus on your obstacles that’s exactly what you will see. As God continues to write your story, maybe He is placing before you an open door.

Every day is a brand-new day!

Can I be so bold as to ask you, what are you going to do next? I know this for certain, LOVE is the greatest and the door is always open with God.

Your friend,

Sharon
